Outlook: It has been a tough stretch for the Owls, which have not made the state playoffs since 2010. Highland Park, which has had a proud tradition with players such as L.J. Smith making it to the NFL, has struggled to get enough numbers to field a team in recent years. Since 2016, when the Owls had their last winning season (6-4), they have not won a game, and only played one game in 2018 and didn’t play at all a year ago. The key accomplishment here is getting on the field and playing every game.

Outlook: The 2021 Jonathan Dayton Bulldogs will be looking to contend for the division this year despite only playing three games a season ago due to COVID. One of its two losses was a six point defeat at the hands of New Providence, which finished 8-1 overall. The Bulldogs will have to battle the likes of South Hunterdon and Belvidere for division honors while fighting off a charge from an up and coming Manville team.

Key Players Returning:  Danny Wildgoose, Zion Harrison, Shawn Purcell, Brandon Flores

Outlook: The 2021 Manville Mustangs had high hopes coming into the season, but then the torrential rains from the remnants of Hurricane Ida produced catastrophic flooding in the town that has been hampered time and time again on the banks of the Raritan River. Nevertheless, the players helped the community clean up and try to move forward and did not play Belvidere. The Mustangs have some good young talent coming up including Danny Wildgoose, Zion Harrison (also a standout hoops player), and Shawn Purcell. Manville will now open its season versus Dunellen.

Outlook: South Hunterdon finished 4-4 a season ago, and despite losing the likes of QB Ryan Hinman and RB Logan Conner, the Eagles are still looking to compete for a division title. Returning players such as Nick Venettone, Bode Dunn, and Tommy Ramsin opened some eyes last week with a solid effort in a 19-12 loss against a very good Bound Brook squad.
