SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ–Week one of the 2021 Union County High School Football season saw our top two teams, Union and Scotch Plains-Fanwood, rebound after suffering Week 0 losses in the Battle at the Beach. The top ranked Farmers remained No. 1 thanks to a second half surge that defeated St. Joseph’s (40-21) while the Raiders overcame some adversity during a 34-20 win over Plainfield. Summit registered a solid 39-12 victory over Elizabeth while Linden moved into the Top 10 with an opening night win at J.F. Kennedy of Iselin (33-13). Current record in parenthesis.
