SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ–There was some more upheaval in the Big Central Gridiron Union County Top 10 this week. Although Union, Cranford, and New Providence remained locked in at No. 1, No. 2, and No. 3 respectively, Hillside rebounded back up to No. 4 after its 34-0 victory over Overbrook in the opening round of the Central Jersey Group 2 Playoffs.
David Brearley dropped from No. 4 to No. 7 after its loss to Boonton (41-24) in the opening round of the North Jersey Section 2 Group 1 Playoffs. Summit and Rahway stayed in relatively the same place while Scotch Plains-Fanwood, Linden, and Westfield dropped in the poll. Other than the top four teams and Plainfield, all teams that were considered for this week’s poll lost. Current record in parenthesis.
