Big Central Gridiron’s Thanksgiving Day Round Robin

BCG Plans to Cover Some Action From Three Big Central Turkey Day Games

SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ—With many of the Big Central Conference teams opting not to play on Thanksgiving due to the onset of the NJSIAA Regional Finals the past several years, and the State Final games that will begin next season, there are only four games on Turkey Day that involve schools from the BCC.  Three of them are in Union County.

Big Central Gridiron plans to cover at least some of the action from those three Union County Thanksgiving Day Games.  First, BCG will head up to Roselle Park and Herm Shaw Field to see the hometown Panthers take on Roselle in their annual holiday rivalry game.  Next, we will travel over to Berkeley Heights and Governor Livingston High School to take in some of the action between the Highlanders and New Providence.

Finally, BCG will make its last stop at Hub Stine Field in Plainfield to cover the remainder of the annual holiday clash between the Plainfield Cardinals and Westfield Blue Devils.  As usual, Big Central Gridiron will be posting tweets with video and photos of the action as it is being covered.  In addition, BCG hopes to cover action in the NJSIAA Regional Finals that will be taking place on that weekend as well.

Below is the Thanksgiving Day Schedule in the Big Central Conference:

In future years, Big Central Gridiron plans to travel out to Easton and Lafayette College to take in one of the biggest Thanksgiving Day rivalries in New Jersey between the Red Rovers of Easton High School and the Phillipsburg Stateliners.  For New Jersey High School football fans, this clash is one that must be on the bucket list.
