SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ—We are now heading toward the final few games of the season. Hillsborough and Cranford will play in NJSIAA Regional Championships starting on Friday when the Cougars take on West Morris Central in the North Jersey Group 3 Regional Championship at MetLife Stadium on Friday afternoon.
However, there are still some Thanksgiving Day Games involving several Big Central Conference schools. Big Central Gridiron will be covering three of the four games involving BCC schools. All three games will be in Union County. BCG will cover a little bit of each game to give a feel of a Turkey Day round-robin.
First, Big Central Gridiron will travel out to Herm Shaw Field in Roselle Park, where the Panthers will host neighborhood rival, Roselle starting at 10:00 AM. Next, BCG will travel Route 22 West over to Governor Livingston High School to see the Highlanders take on New Providence.
Finally, BCG will finish its Turkey Day coverage with a trip over to Hub Stine Field in Plainfield to cover the annual rivalry game between the Cardinals and Westfield. In other action, Phillipsburg will be facing off against arch-rival, Easton in their historic rivalry. All four games are resuming this year after not being played in 2020 due to COVID.
Below are BCG’s picks for Thanksgiving Day:
- Roselle over Roselle Park
- New Providence over Governor Livingston
- Easton over Phillipsburg
- Westfield over Plainfield
NOTE: Last week, Big Central Gridiron was 3-0, and is now 259-68 overall on the season in its weekly picks.
