BCG's Middlesex County Pre-Season Top 10

SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – It should be quite another battle in the Big Central Conference’s National Silver Division. North Brunswick, Sayreville, and Edison all figure to be in the thick of that division race. Sayreville has a new head coach, but Zaimer Wright is back and healthy.

North Brunswick lost a number of key players from a year ago to graduation, but Samaad Hicks leads another talent-laden Raiders group.  Edison also went through a great deal of transitions with graduation and a new head coach, but there is still plenty of firepower at the skilled positions.

Meanwhile, the National Gold looks to be a three-way battle between Piscataway, Old Bridge, and South Brunswick.  The Chiefs did lose Aleks Sitkowski at QB after he transferred to Watchung Hills.  However, P-Way still has talent with the likes of QB Elan McCrorey, WR/DB Jahai Johnson, and DeShaun Stephens.

Old Bridge looks to surprise some teams with the likes of Brody Nugent, C.J. Fortunes, Stephen Davies, and Xavier Diaz.  South Brunswick is led by QB Braden Paulmenn, RB Jeylon Billups, and WR Shamil Dixon.  The Vikings lost a talented group led by Jacob Brokaw, Damarion Potts, Khiri Summers, Mehki Baker, Raffieu Deen, and Darren Rodman.

North Brunswick gets the pre-season nod for No. 1 in Middlesex County. Last year’s records in parenthesis:

  1. North Brunswick (8-2)
  2. Sayreville (4-5)
  3. Colonia (8-2)
  4. Edison (9-4)
  5. Piscataway (6-3)
  6. St. Thomas Aquinas (9-2)
  7. St. Joseph’s (5-5)
  8. Woodbridge (4-6)
  9. Old Bridge (5-5)
  10. South Brunswick (5-5)

Other Teams Considered:  Carteret (7-3), Monroe (2-7), Perth Amboy (2-7), South Plainfield (9-1), East Brunswick (1-8), and New Brunswick (1-8).
