Somerville was the highest-seeded school from the Big Central Conference in all of the NJSIAA State Tournament. The Pioneers are one of two teams from the BCC remaining in the state playoffs. Led by QB Brenden Pacheco and RB Terrell Mitchell, Somerville will play in its first regional final and state semifinal game when it hosts Mainland Regional in the Group 3 State Semifinal at Brooks Field on Friday night.
