SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – After reclaiming the top spot in the 2023 Big Central Gridiron Hunterdon-Warren County Top 10, Phillipsburg is looking to maintain its position atop of the heap in West Jersey in 2024. Hunterdon Central, Delaware Valley, and Warren Hills will be looking to challenge.
Senior QB, Jett Genovese returns to lead the Stateliners and he will have plenty of weapons at his disposal including WR Matthew Scerbo. Linebacker Jah’quill Dooley will anchor the defense. Phillipsburg will be moving down from Group 5 to Group 4. The Stateliners will be competing again in the Big Central Conference’s American Silver Division, which is the toughest in the entire BCC.
Hunterdon Central lost QB RJ Hart and RB Jakob Saus among others from last year’s squad that qualified for the state playoffs. Senior Xavier Arteaga will try to lead the Red Devils to another successful season. North Hunterdon will be looking to improve on its winless season a year ago while Voorhees has a new head coach and looking for new faces to fill the void left behind by the likes of Justin Wistuba.
