BCG’s Union County Top 10 – Pre-Season 2024

Linden’s senior class went undefeated as freshmen in 2021 and will be looking to have another big season in 2024 including a BCC Liberty Gold Division Championship.

SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – With a talented group of seniors that first made waves several years ago as freshmen, Linden will be looking to finish atop the Union County heap in 2024. The Tigers, led by junior QB Tyrone Hinton, have aspirations of winning the BCC Liberty Gold crown.

Summit, Hillside, Elizabeth, Westfield, and Plainfield are also looking to contend for BCG’s Union County top honors as well as divisional, sectional, and state championships. The Hilltoppers lost several key players to graduation including Carter Shallcross, but still have junior QB Cole Sabol and senior RB Shane Walsh. Hillside lost its entire receiving corps from a year ago but still has QB Zion Risher and RB Talibi Kaba.

Elizabeth was perhaps the unluckiest team in the entire Big Central Conference in 2023 and will be looking to make a statement right away with an opening-day contest versus Linden. Westfield lost some to graduation including QB Max Cho, but still has the likes of wideouts Enzo Ferrero and Sebastian Magherini, TE Colin Coyle, RB Blake Rudow, and QB Cole Weidler.

Plainfield will be looking to contend despite losing the likes of RB Yasir Wyatt and offensive and defensive lineman Josue Cordoba. The Cardinals return players such as E.J. Brown, Al-Kabir Bethune, Kamai Lowery, Joel Cordoba, and Alameen Watkins. The Cards also have a new turf field debuting this season.
