Big Central Gridiron’s Week 2 Picks – September 13-14, 2024

Bernards looks to continue its winning ways when it travels to Tap Webb Field in Alexandria to take on Delaware Valley in a huge early-season showdown in the BCC Patriot Gold Division on Friday night.

SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – Week 2 of the New Jersey High School Football season is about to begin, and the Big Central Conference kicks off the action on Friday night. There are no Thursday night games in the BCC this week. There will be 21 games on Friday night followed up by nine more on Saturday afternoon. At least 9 of the games this week are key early-season divisional match-ups.

BCG plans to cover the BCC Freedom Silver contest between Highland Park and Jonathan Dayton from Springfield on Friday night. Then, on Saturday afternoon, BCG travels over to Metuchen again, but this time to Brenner Family Field to see St. Joseph’s take on Union. All 59 Big Central Conference teams will be in action.

Week 2 big match-ups include St. Thomas Aquinas at North Brunswick on Friday night. In addition, Hillsborough travels north to Lee Field in Basking Ridge to take on Ridge while Phillipsburg hosts Hunterdon Central in two key early-season Big Central Conference American Silver Division contests. Plainfield travels to Priscoe Stadium in Woodbridge to take on the Barrons in a key BCC Liberty Gold match-up. Bernards travels to Delaware Valley in a key BCC Patriot Gold showdown.

On Saturday, the BCC American Gold has two big contests with Union taking on St. Joseph’s and Westfield hosting Elizabeth. Linden hosts Colonia in another key BCC Liberty Gold clash while Summit travels to Woodfield Stadium at Conant Street Park to take on Hillside in a BCC United Gold match-up.
