Big Central Gridiron’s Week 4 Picks – September 26-28, 2024

SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – Week 4 of the New Jersey High School Football season is about to begin, and the Big Central Conference kicks off the action on Thursday night with one game. There will be 24 games on Friday night followed up by four more on Saturday afternoon. Twenty-nine games in total involving 58 BCC teams. Plainfield has a bye.

Several of the games this week are key divisional and crossover match-ups. There are no games against non-conference schools in Week 4. BCG plans to cover the BCC Crossover contest between J.F. Kennedy of the United Silver Division and Monroe from the National Gold Division at Hugh P. Walsh Stadium in Monroe Township. Then, on Saturday afternoon, BCG travels to Woodfield Stadium at Conant Street Park in Hillside to see the Comets take on Somerville in another BCC Crossover.

Week 3 big match-ups include South Brunswick visiting Kenny Armwood Stadium to take on Piscataway in a National Gold clash on Thursday evening. On Friday night, Hillsborough at Phillipsburg in a BCC American Silver Division clash from Bellis Stadium at Maloney Field. In addition, Ridge will travel to Basilone Field to take on Bridgewater-Raritan. St. Joseph’s heads to Westfield’s Kehler Stadium to face the Blue Devils on Saturday afternoon.

Also on Saturday afternoon, Summit hosts Cranford at Investors Bank Stadium in Tatlock Park in a key BCC United Gold showdown. In crossover games, St. Thomas Aquinas travels up to Williams Field to battle Elizabeth on Friday night.
