SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – Week 6 of the New Jersey High School Football season is about to begin, and the Big Central Conference kicks off the action on Thursday night this week. The most games of the week in the BCC are scheduled on Thursday night. There will be 14 games on Thursday night, 13 more on Friday, and another four on Saturday afternoon. Thirty-one games in total involving all 59 BCC teams. Included in those games are three non-conference match-ups.
Several of the games this week are key divisional and crossover match-ups. BCG plans to cover at least three games this week. First, BCG will cover the BCC Freedom Silver contest between South Hunterdon and Belvidere at Samuel Jeffries Stadium in Lambertville on Thursday night. Then, on Friday evening, BCG travels to Clark Township to see Patriot Silver Champion, A.L. Johnson take on Delaware Valley of the Patriot Gold Division in a BCC Crossover. Finally, on Saturday night, BCG travels to Glen Gardner to take in another BCC Crossover contest between Voorhees of the Patriot Gold Division and Governor Livingston of the United Silver Division.
Week 6 big match-ups include Bernards hosting Summit in another BCC Crossover contest between ranked teams at Olcott Field on Thursday night. In a couple of BCC American Silver Division contests, Bridgewater-Raritan hosts Hillsborough and Hunterdon Central hosts Ridge on Thursday night. In addition, St. Joseph’s visiting Bellis Field at Maloney Stadium to take on Phillipsburg in a Big Central Conference crossover between two ranked teams on Friday night.
Also on Saturday night, Watchung Hills will look to keep pace with Somerville when it battles Rahway in a BCC Liberty Silver Division contest at Tozier Stadium. Also on Saturday afternoon, a couple of BCC Freedom Gold contests. Spotswood will host Jonathan Dayton at Chargers Stadium while nearby in South River, the Rams will take on David Brearley at Denny Stadium.
