Big Central Gridiron’s Week 7 Picks – October 18-19, 2024

SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – Week 7 of the New Jersey High School Football season is about to begin, and the Big Central Conference kicks off the action on Friday night this week. There are no games on Thursday night. There will be 21 games on Friday night, and another nine on Saturday afternoon. Thirty games in total involving all 59 BCC teams. Included in those games is one non-conference match-up.

All of the BCC games this week are crossover match-ups. Big Central Gridiron plans to cover at least three games this week. First, BCG will cover the BCC Crossover between Cranford and Colonia at Memorial Field in Cranford on Friday night. Then, on Saturday morning, BCG visits Brenner Family Field in Metuchen to see American Gold Champion, St. Joseph’s take on National Silver Champion, St. Thomas Aquinas in another BCC Crossover. Finally, on Saturday afternoon, BCG travels to Blairstown to take in a non-conference contest between Belvidere of the Freedom Silver Division and long-time neighborhood arch-rival, North Warren of the Super Football Conference.

Week 7 big match-ups include Piscataway hosting Hillsborough in another BCC Crossover contest between ranked teams at Kenny Armwood Stadium on Friday night. In another high-profile BCC crossover game on Friday, Plainfield will be hosting Somerville in a contest that will be broadcast on Big State Sports. One more key BCC Crossover match-up will be between Hunterdon Central and Old Bridge at Demarco Stadium in Lombardi Field. Both teams are fighting for a playoff spot.

Then on Saturday, Woodbridge travels up to Investors Bank Field at Tatlock Park in Summit to battle the hometown Hilltoppers. Westfield hosts Bridgewater-Raritan at Kehler Stadium in another important BCC crossover game between two schools vying for a state playoff berth.
