BCG’s Union County Top 10 – Week 7 – October 22, 2024

In what has been quite a tumultuous season in Union County, the Cranford Cougars find themselves No. 1 in the latest BCG Union County Top Ten.

SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – With a lot of changes around Union County this season, the schools within its borders have shuffled around constantly throughout the 2024 Big Central Conference football season. Cranford is the latest team to top the poll.

Despite losing to Summit by two scores last month, the Cougars have rebounded with recent wins over Rahway and Colonia. Cranford still has to contend with fourth-ranked Hillside, which stops by Memorial Field on Friday night for a BCC United Gold Division clash.

Rahway might be the hottest team in Union County right now. The Indians are tied with A.L. Johnson and New Providence for the most wins in the county and have also recently defeated a tough Watchung Hills team. Westfield also moved up thanks to its convincing victory over Bridgewater-Raritan at home last week.

Plainfield will be looking to rebound following its 30-7 loss at home to Somerville on Friday night. Summit will be looking to get back into the win column after suffering its third straight defeat at the hands of Woodbridge on Saturday afternoon.

Elizabeth has now won two straight and is back up to .500 following its tremendous win over Watchung Hills on Friday night. Current records in parenthesis:

  1. Cranford (5-2)
