BCG Week Seven Top 10 – October 23, 2024

Aquinas Remains atop the Latest BCG Top 10

In preparation for Week 8, Big Central Gridiron put together its latest top ten following Week 7 play.  With its come-from-behind 34-20 victory at St. Joseph’s last Saturday, the Trojans of St. Thomas Aquinas remained atop the latest BCG Top 10 with a 6-2 overall mark.

The Trojans remain undefeated in the Big Central Conference at 5-0 including an unblemished 3-0 mark in the BCC’s National Silver Division. Aquinas has outscored its opponents by a margin of 327 to 146, or by an average of 41 to 18 per game. In BCC games, Aquinas has outscored its foes by a margin of 214 to 47 or by an average of about 43 to 9 per contest.

Unbeaten Somerville and Bernards take the next two spots while Woodbridge moves into 4th. The BCG Top 10 did a bit more shifting around this past week than in previous weeks.  With St. Joseph’s losing to Aquinas and Hillsborough defeating Piscataway, the Raiders moved up to 7th.

Thanks to its come-from-behind win over Colonia last Friday night, Cranford moved into the BCG Top 10 for the first time this season. The Cougars are ranked 9th while Rahway also makes its first appearance at No. 10. Three of the five teams in the BCC’s American Silver remain in the latest Top 10. Current records in parenthesis:
