Big Central Gridiron’s Week 8 Picks – October 24-26, 2024

SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – Week 8 of the New Jersey High School Football season is about to begin, and the Big Central Conference kicks off the action on Thursday night this week. There are two games on Thursday night. There will be 26 games on Friday night and another two on Saturday afternoon. Thirty games in total involving all 59 BCC teams. Included in those games is one non-conference match-up.

Nineteen of the BCC games this week are divisional contests. Big Central Gridiron plans to cover at least three games this week. First, BCG will cover the BCC Crossover between David Brearley and Jonathan Dayton at Avery Ward Field on Thursday night.

Then, on Friday, BCG travels to Basilone Field in Bridgewater to take in the BCC American Silver clash between Phillipsburg and Bridgewater-Raritan. Finally, on Saturday afternoon, BCG heads up to Domenick Colangelo Stadium in Belvidere to see the Seaters take on Middlesex for all of the marbles in the BCC’s Freedom Silver Division.

The only non-conference game involving a Big Central Conference school will be on Thursday night when Edison hosts Paterson Eastside of the Super Football Conference at The Drawl in Edison. On Friday night, the BCC’s Liberty Silver Division will be up for grabs when Watchung Hills visits Brooks Field to take on Somerville. Woodbridge hosts St. Joseph’s in a key crossover match-up.

Then on Saturday, two more division titles will be on the line. South Plainfield visits Lou Bartha Stadium in Iselin to take on J.F. Kennedy to help decide the BCC’s United Silver crown. Middlesex visits Belvidere to decide the champion of the BCC’s Freedom Silver Division.
