Additional Facts – Belvidere

The Seaters are only two years removed from a winless season back in 2022. Belvidere had lost 13 straight games before defeating Metuchen on the road in September 2023. The County Seaters finished the 2023 season at 3-7. Belvidere lost its season opener to Boonton of Morris County before reeling off seven straight victories. The Seaters have outscored their BCC Freedom Silver foes by a combined margin of 132-0, or an average of 33-0 per game.

Highlights from Belvidere’s win over North Warren last Saturday.

Belvidere’s last winning season was in 2021 when the Seaters finished 5-3 overall including a 3-1 mark in the BCC’s Division 1B. The County Seaters tied Manville for 2nd place behind division champion, South Hunterdon. The Seaters lost 45-0 to Middlesex at Memorial Field in Middlesex a year ago. Belvidere also lost to the Jays in 2022. This will be only the third meeting between the two schools.

Additional Facts – Middlesex

The Blue Jays have won the only two meetings between these two schools by a combined margin of 82-12. Middlesex won the first-ever meeting between these two schools back in 2022 by a score of 37-12 at Domenick Colangelo Stadium in Belvidere. The Jays followed that up with a 45-0 shutout a year ago. Middlesex finished second in the BCC Freedom Silver to South Hunterdon last year.

The Blue Jays have played tough crossover games outside of their division in the BCC. Middlesex defeated United Silver Division leader, J.F. Kennedy (36-32) at home last week, and lost to New Providence on the road at Leider Field several weeks ago. The Jays are ranked 6th in South Jersey Group 1 while Belvidere is ranked 12th in North Jersey Group 1.

BCG’s Prediction

Both of these teams have fairly tough defenses. Belvidere has the edge though with the top-ranked scoring defense in the BCC. The Seaters have only allowed an average of 6 points per game, and lead the conference in shutouts with five. Belvidere has only allowed 15 points in its last 27 quarters.

Highlights from Belvidere’s win over South Hunterdon on October 10th.

Middlesex and Belvidere both run the ball more than throw, but the Seaters have been more balanced offensively this season. QB Kyle Blew has matured as a passer and the threesome of sophomore Elijah White and seniors Mason Chamberlain and Luke Tipton are three key targets in an explosive passing game.

Dom Parenti has improved at QB as well, and has the ability to put up big numbers on the ground and in the air. Parenti demonstrated that well in a Week 1 victory over Roselle Park. He will need to do it again on Saturday to keep the BCC’s top scoring defense off-balance. Jax Jarvis and hoops standout Julian Samuels will need to chip in with big plays.

Prediction:  Belvidere wins 21-7.
