Somerville and Phillipsburg were the second highest-seeded schools from the Big Central Conference in all of the NJSIAA State Tournament. Both the Pioneers and the Stateliners will be playing for a berth in a state championship game for the first time ever on Friday night. Somerville will host Mainland Regional in the Group 3 State Semifinals at Brooks Field while Phillipsburg will take on Ramapo in the Group 4 State Semifinals at Bellis Field in Maloney Stadium.
