The 2021 Hillsborough Raiders football team is the only one from the Big Central Conference to win an NJSIAA Regional Final or State Semifinal Game. No Group State Championship Game existed at that time. The NJSIAA implemented that round a year later.
SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – On Friday night, both Phillipsburg and Somerville will represent the Big Central Conference in regional championships/state semifinals. The Stateliners and Pioneers are two of seven teams from the BCC to make it this far in the playoffs. The 2021 Hillsborough Raiders were the only team to win at this stage but didn’t play for a state title since the NJSIAA didn’t implement that round until a year later in 2022.
