2024 BCG Season Rewind – BCC American Silver

SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – As we get underway with the 2025 New Jersey High School football season, let’s take a quick look back at the 2024 campaign.  Next stop on the tour is the super competitive Big Central Conference’s American Silver Division, won by Ridge with Phillipsburg finishing second and Hillsborough ending up third.

Led by QB Jett Genovese, RB Sam Dech, and WRs Matthew Scerbo Jr. and Felix Matos on offense and Jayden Lucas and Aeden Hywel on defense, the Phillipsburg Stateliners reached the Group 4 State Championship Game before falling to Winslow Township.

However, the Stateliners were runner-up in the rough and tumble BCC American Silver Division behind Ridge. The Red Devils were led by the rugged RB Aidan Stieglitz offense and DB Ryan Turner on defense, and finished 4-0 in divisional play.

Hillsborough turned in a solid campaign for a third-place finish in the American Silver Division. Behind the running of RB Jackson Jankowicz and passing of QB Ryan Seamon on offense, and the play of LBs Garrett Meyer and Mateo Del Toro, and lineman Xander Borowski on defense, the Raiders reached the South Jersey Group 5 semifinals.
