BCG’s Week 1 Picks

BCC American Silver Division schools, Bridgewater-Raritan and Phillipsburg, are involved in two key early-season crossover games in Week 1.

SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – The 2025 New Jersey High School Football Season moves along to Week 1.  The Week 1 games get underway on Thursday night in the Big Central Conference.  Big Central Gridiron plans to cover three contests.  BCG begins its Week 1 coverage with the 50th meeting between North Brunswick and South Brunswick on Thursday evening.

Then, on Friday night, BCG heads over to Highland Park to see the Owls host long-time GMC rival, Dunellen, in a crossover match-up between schools from the BCC’s Freedom Gold and Freedom Silver Divisions. Finally, on Saturday, BCG travels to St. Thomas Aquinas to see the high-powered Trojans host Catholic Memorial of Massachusetts.  

There are a ton of games on tap, including many BCC crossover contests and non-conference games against schools from the Shore Conference, Super Football Conference, and West Jersey Football League.  Two key BCC crossover games that stand out involve Piscataway and Bridgewater on Friday night at Basilone Field, and Phillipsburg against Westfield at Kehler Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

There is a total of 32 games on tap this week, including one on Thursday, 25 on Friday, and six on Saturday.  So let’s dive in by taking a look at all of Big Central Gridion’s Week 1 picks.
