2024 BCG Season Rewind – BCC Liberty Gold

SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – As we get underway with the 2025 New Jersey High School football season, let’s take a quick look back at the 2024 campaign.  Next stop on the tour is the super competitive Big Central Conference’s Liberty Gold Division, won by Woodbridge, with Plainfield finishing second and Colonia ending up third.

Led by twin brothers Derek and Brian Anderson as well as RB Jahmir Beal, WR Isaiah Tolliver, and DB Jeremiah Allen, the Woodbridge Barrons won the BCC’s Liberty Gold Division in 2024 and finished the regular season undefeated.  The Barrons would fall to Northern Highlands in the opening round of the North Jersey Section 2 Group 4 state playoffs.  

Plainfield finished second behind Woodbridge thanks to the Barrons’ 41-26 win over the Cardinals at Priscoe Stadium in Week 2, but qualified for the North Jersey Section 2 Group 5 playoffs. The Cardinals also snapped arch-rival Westfield’s 11-game winning streak in their annual Thanksgiving Day series. Colonia started the season with much promise, but lost 6 of its last 7 contests.
