2024 BCG Season Rewind – BCC National Gold

SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – As we get underway with the 2025 New Jersey High School football season, let’s take a quick look back at the 2024 campaign.  Next stop on the tour is the competitive Big Central Conference’s National Gold Division, won by Piscataway, with Old Bridge finishing second and Monroe ending up third.

The Piscataway Chiefs won their second BCC National Gold Division crown in three seasons with a 4-0 mark. The trio of sophomore QB Landon Pernell, RB James Bodley, and WR/DB/KR Jahai Johnson led the offense while LB Joshua Stephens, Bodley, and Koby Bell anchored the defense. Old Bridge came just a few points short of defeating P-Way early on in the season and finished second.  

Monroe managed to overcome both East Brunswick and South Brunswick to finish third in the BCC National Gold. Only P-Way and Old Bridge qualified for the state playoffs, with the Chiefs losing to West Orange in the North Jersey Section 1 Group 5 semifinals, while the Knights fell to Cherokee in the Central Jersey Group 5 state tournament.
