2024 BCG Season Rewind – BCC United Gold

The Summit Hilltoppers started strong, and utilized its solid start to claim the Big Central Conference’s United Gold Division crown in 2024. However, Cranford avenged its only division loss by defeating Summit in the opening round of the North Jersey Section 2 Group 3 playoffs.

SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – As we get underway with the 2025 New Jersey High School football season, let’s take a quick look back at the 2024 campaign.  Next stop on the tour is the Big Central Conference’s United Gold Division, won by Summit, with Cranford finishing second.

With its potent no-huddle attack wearing out teams led by QB Cole Sabol and WR Oscar Marx, Summit started the 2024 campaign strong, and won the division title. However, the Hilltoppers ran into a very tough crossover schedule that included the likes of Somerville, Bernards, and Woodbridge, and lost four of its last five games.

Meanwhile, the Cranford Cougars started out somewhat slowly with a 2-2 record through their first four games, but finished the regular season with four straight victories, and then upended Summit in the opening round of the North Jersey Section 2 Group 3 state tournament.
