2024 BCG Season Rewind – BCC United Silver

The Big Central Conference’s United Silver Division had perhaps the most competitive race of any division within the BCC back in 2024. Governor Livingston, J.F. Kennedy, and South Plainfield all finished tied for first place with a 3-1 record.

SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – As we get underway with the 2025 New Jersey High School football season, let’s take a quick look back at the 2024 campaign.  BCG’s last stop on the tour is the Big Central Conference’s United Silver Division, which Governor Livingston, J.F. Kennedy, and South Plainfield all won a share of in 2024.

The BCC’s United Silver Division was the most competitive race of 2024. The division went down to the final week of the season, and when the dust finally settled, it still wasn’t decided as the Highlanders, Mustangs, and Tigers all finished in a three-way tie. Kennedy’s improvement had a lot to do with one of its best seasons in the last ten years.

South Plainfield got off to a rough start with a division loss to Governor Livingston as well as a tough crossover schedule that included the likes of Bernards, Delaware Valley, and Cranford. However, the Tigers rebounded by winning three straight to end the regular season and catch up to GL and JFK. South Plainfield also won its regional crossover game against Millburn to finish at .500.

Governor Livingston endured a 0-3 start that included a loss to J.F. Kennedy at home before finishing the season with victories in 5 out of its last 7 games, including a thrilling last-second win at Voorhees on October 12th.
