Led by senior QB, Jett Genovese, Phillipsburg will be playing in its first-ever state championship game on Wednesday night when it takes on South Jersey Group 4 State Champion, Winslow Township in the 2024 NJSIAA North Jersey Group 4 State Championship at Rutgers University’s SHI Stadium. The Liners are looking to win their first state championship game in school history.
Only Four Games Left
There are only four games left in the 2024 Big Central Conference High School football season. Phillipsburg will be playing in two of them including the annual Thanksgiving Day match-up against Easton and the Group 4 State Championship versus Winslow Township on December 4th at Rutgers.

Somerville’s Brady Scheier knocks the ball loose from Mainland Regional’s Rocco DeBiaso late in the fourth quarter of the NJSIAA Group 3 State Semifinal at Brooks Field on Friday night. Mainland won in overtime, 36-35.

Led by QB Jayden Schmalz and RB DJ Cook, the top-seeded Piscataway Middle School Chiefs rolled past second-seeded Elizabeth, 32-6 to win the 2024 Big Central Conference Middle School Championship at Kenny Arwood Stadium on Tuesday night.

Ridge’s Aidan Stieglitz scores the 2nd of his three TDs to give the Red Devils a 14-7 lead over Rahway with 49 seconds remaining in the first half of the NJSIAA North Jersey Section 1 Group 4 State Tournament contest on Friday night at Lee Field. Ridge won 22-14 to advance to the sectional semifinals.
