South Hunterdon’s Jefferis Not Returning in 2026

LAMBERTVILLE, NJ – As reported in MyCentralJersey a couple of weeks ago, the South Hunterdon Eagles will be flying in a new direction in 2026.  The school announced that long-time head football coach, Toby Jefferis will not return next season.  This past season, the Eagles finished 1-7 overall and 1-4 in the Big Central Conference’s Freedom Silver Division.

South Hunterdon’s only win of the 2025 campaign came in the final week of the regular season with a 26-0 shutout of Freedom Silver Division rival, Dunellen.  The Eagles finished 4-4 a year ago, including a 2-3 mark in divisional play.  Before that, South Hunterdon won BCC division titles in 2021 and 2023 under Jefferis direction.
