BCG Weather Report – October 3, 2025

Mostly sunny skies with some hints of high cirrus clouds have been the theme around Central Jersey the past several days.

Warm Weather Returns For Week 5

SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – After warm weather finished out last week and began this week, a taste of fall came in for the middle portion of the week.  Following high temperatures in the upper 70s to low 80s to round out the month at Greg’s Weather Center in South Plainfield, NJ, the month of October began with high temps that were 10 degrees cooler and below average.

There also continues to be little in the way of precipitation in not only Northwestern Middlesex County, but the rest of the Garden State.  Talks of drought conditions returning are getting louder.  The month of September ended dry after the threat of severe weather fizzled on September 25th.  Several middle school football games were postponed due to the threat.  In the end, though, only 0.09 of an inch of rain fell at GWC, and just 0.14 of an inch since.

The total amount of rainfall at Greg’s Weather Center for September 2025 was only a little more than two inches, and just 0.06 more than the entire month of August 2025.  Since July 14th, there have only been 4.24 inches of rainfall at GWC.  Prospects for rain in the near term are not good either.  Looking at the 7-day forecast, the best chance of rain will not be until Wednesday, when there is a 70% possibility.

Moving on to the weather conditions for this weekend’s football games, you couldn’t ask for anything better.  While temperatures will be above average, there will be no rain and very little in the way of wind.  These next four or five days of weather may be the last stretch of 80° weather that we see in the Garden State this year.  Keep in mind, though, that nothing is set in stone.  The last 80° day in 2024 was on Halloween.
